Games For Kids:

Here is a list of some of our favorite children's games. They are classic and fun for kids of all ages!

Red Light/Green Light

In Red Light/Green Light, kids try to be the first to reach the "stop light" played by another one of the children.
1. All the children form a horizontal line 10-15 ft. away from the "stop light".
2. When the child playing stop light yells "green light" the players move as far forward as possible.
3. When the stop light yells "red light", the players must stop where they are. Any kids that continue moving are out.
4. The game continues to alternate between "red light" and "green light" until the first player touches the stop light and wins.

Mother May I?

This game is similar to Red Light/ Green Light in that all the children are trying to move forward to reach the "mother" player.
1. All the children form a horizontal line 10-15 ft. away from the "mother".
2. The mother instructs the children as to how many steps they should take and what size. (For example: Take 3 baby steps.) The steps can be forward or backward.
3. The mother can also instruct the players not to move or to stop moving. If any children move at that point they are out.
4. The first child to reach the mother wins.

Marbles

Another classic, marbles should be played on a smooth surface with a small hole made in the center.
1. Each player puts in a marble into the playing field and they are scattered around.
2. Players take turns using a large "shooter" marble to knock the other marbles into the center hole.
3. The players get to keep any marbles they knock into the whole and earn another turn.

Musical Chairs

Be share to grab a seat when the music stops or you are out!
1. Line up two rows of chairs, back-to-back, with one less chair than there are players (i.e. 5 chairs for 6 players).
2. As the music plays, children around the row of chairs.
3. When the music stops, each player must sit down in a chair as fast as they can. The child that does not have a seat is out.
4. Remove one chair after each round and continue playing until there is only one chair left and the last person gets out leaving a winner.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Duck, Duck, Goose is a great circle game that can be played with large or small groups of children.
1. All the children sit in a circle except one child who is "It".
2. The "It" walks around the circle tapping the others on the head calling them "duck".
3. When the "It" calls a player a "goose", that player must get up chase the "It" around the circle. If the "goose" catches the "It" before he sits in the "goose's" seat then the "It" is out and sits in the middle of the circle. If the "It" makes it safely to the seat then the "Goose" is the new "It".
4. Continue to play until only one player remains in the circle and is declared the winner.
